Friday: Moose Lake Willow River Loss 1-6
After a grueling week of games, the Dragon's didn't have enough fuel in the tank to find 1 last regular season win. After playing 4 games in 4 days, the Dragons were exhausted. The Rebles got on the board early scoring 4 of their first 5 batters in the first inning. After the 1st inning, the Dragons played much better defense holding the Rebels to only 2 more runs the rest of the game. The Dragons struggled to reach first base the first time through the line up, but Kylee Berube refused to give up. She mustered a hit in the bottom of the 5th inning. Julia Christianson scores after a walk, a fielder's choice, a wild pitch, and an error by the catcher, the Dragons are able to break the 0 on the score board. The Dragon's had another opportunity to score in the bottom of the seventh, with Berube again on 2nd base after walking, Kayla Koecher steps into pinch hit, and earns a base hit almost scoring Berube, who got caught out at home on a tag play.
We look forward to playing in Moose Lake for a revenge game versus the Rebels on Tuesday 5-21-13. If we win we play Hermantown in Cloquet at noon on Thursday. We had our 3rd outside practice on Monday, and are ready for any challenge the Rebels can throw our way.
