Shelbie Furber, Sr pitcher and Emily Koecher, Jr 1st baseman braved the weather to venture down to Mankato (state tourney host) to watch some high level softball. The three of us went down to watch St. Thomas (GOO TOMMIES), Gustavus, Bethel, and St. Olaf battle for the loan regional automatic bid. We saw 2 great games on Saturday. St. Thomas played Gustavus and won 8-0 in 6 innings while Bethel creamed St. Olaf 10-2 in similar fashion. We went out for lunch and returned to watch the Tommies battle for the automatic bid against Bethel. St. Thomas won in 9 innings with a score of 3-2 a very close game, and fun to watch, especially when the Tommies won it with a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth! AHHH the good old days! Brings me back to playing... although my playing days are over I am sure having a blast coaching this year!
